The bicycle is the main focal point of both paintings by Chris Smith. Smith was able to capture the simplicity and beauty of the two-wheeled chariot within these paintings. A clever signature of Smith, is the addition of the bird appearing on the bike frame (and on the pavement), as the is the artist frequently juxtaposes subjects of a contrasting nature within his work, adding a whimsical element to each scene. The title is also a playful nod to the song (of the same name) by the rock band, Queen, of which, Smith is a fan.
